   2D&3DCGを駆使したアクションファンタジーアニメーション。企画制作を、『青の六号』のGONZOが担当しており、その技術、迫力の高さは保証付き。
   敵国デュシスと戦争状態にある国アナトレーに住み、小型飛行艇ヴァンシップを繰って空の配達人をしているクラウス・ヴァルカ。しかし、ある日、アルヴィスという少女を空中戦艦に送る仕事を引き受けたことから、クラウスたちははるか上空で繰り広げられる戦争に巻き込まれていく。
   「審判」が登場するなど、ここでの戦争はルールに則ったものという設定がおもしろい。当然ながら発生する「（戦争の）ルール違反」により、戦いが激化していくなか、クラウスをはじめとする若者たちの成長する過程が描かれる。（田中 元）

私にとって、ここ数年で一番のアニメです。たまたま、DearBoysを見ようとテレビをつけたのですが、DearBoysの後のラストエグザイルのほうが面白いじゃないですか？私は、今、大学で航空工学を専攻しているからかもしれませんが、空を自由に飛ぶということはいいですね。
空に、あこがれている方、ぜひ見るべし！きっとはまります。

最後にエンディングテーマは、聞いたら泣けるぞ！

この作品はとても、オリジナリティがあり誰が見ても感動すると思う。それに、主人公の空に対する思いの強さが心に響く。あと、周りの人間関係にも苦悩する場面もあり同調できる。といゆうわけなので・・・どの作品よりいいとオススメします~。

絵の繊細さ、惹きつけられるキャラクター、美麗なCG等いままで見た限りのアニメでは自分は一番だと思います。ストーリーもキチンと作られているし、初めてＤＶＤ全巻購入したいという気持ちになりました。
